The Quiet Corner Updates To Resume!
After a very long pause for personal reasons, publication of the novels on this website will finally resume. All of my work is free to read online. There will never be a fee to read any of my books on the website.
For those who do not know, Silent Mysteries is a fully published novel, available for sale on Amazon. I will be adding a link to the website for anyone who would like to help support this website in buying a physical copy of the book.

Nearly five years ago, I made the decision to rewrite Silent Mysteries from scratch for a new generation of people to read. It has come to my attention that it was a mistake. The new version of the novel simply wasn't living up to the glory of its former content.
It is for that reason that I'm going to listen to my faithful readers and friends who enjoyed the original novel so much. The content as currently posted online is going to be removed and the original scenes added back in their place. Small grammatical errors may be corrected, but the original book's content will be restored to what was published on Amazon.
I am still planning on dividing the 650 page behemoth into three smaller novels, with Silent Hearts becoming the fourth book in the series. However, no content of the original novel of Silent Mysteries will be altered from this point forward.

Oh what a devilish time I had writing this particular episode today. It was fun peeking into tidbits of Eve's past and gaining a look at what she is capable of doing as one of the Kindred.
In this episode: Reveling in the aftermath with Eve, Arik manages to steal her spiritual essence and takes her to the Lost Plains in an effort to learn more about her...

This week I was only able to add one new scene to the story. As a healthcare worker, I am currently working more hours and extra shifts due to the pandemic of the Coronavirus that is currently sweeping the United States. Therefore, my obligations to work are conflicting with my ability to write as much as I'd like. Still! Enjoy the latest addition to the story.
It seems Errol is being caught in a web of lies when he is confronted by Carridon at the facility. With the appearance of the High Council impending, he is also dealing with the capture of his son, who was taken down while shouting about the wild experiments being run at the lab. How Errol is going to work his way out of this mess? We'll just have to wait and see...

This weeks update finds Arik and Eve involved in a heated battle of wills that sets Arik off into emotional overload. Kyle and Chase take refuge during a quiet reprieve, but Kyle has seriously over-extended himself and is now beginning to feel the effects of it. Meanwhile, Ashen takes watch over Angela when the Greys arrive and fulfill their promise to Kyle. He is left in a quandry as he sits there, knowing there are choices he may soon be forced to make.
DON'T MISS THE PREVIEWS!
At the end of each final scene, I've decided to add in a sneak preview for those who enjoy taking a look ahead. Be warned though, there are spoilers if you decide to venture in that direction...

In my original format of writing Kindred Souls, I had envisioned each part of the story consisting of one day's time. However, that format is not going to work considering how long some of the upcoming days might be. For that reason, you are about to find scenes that were previously in Part 2 moving on over to Part 1.
Giving the rough draft a once over, I can say that each 'Part' will contain between 24 and 30 scenes from the look of things. Deciding where to end one portion and cut to the next is still a work in progress in these early stages of the writing process.
So, if you see sections pop up in Part 1 and think you must have missed something, you didn't. Part 1 is not set to end until the 25th scene.
This update to the episode index guide is set to take place tomorrow. None of the content within the pages will change besides the title of the scene and where it's placed in the table of contents.

What an amazing week this was writing the book. It seems Kyle is digging a pretty deep hole that he'll need to find a way of crawling out of when Chase's life is suddenly put on the line due to his mistake.
Things are just getting started as Eve explores the fortress and discovers for herself that Arik was telling the truth. Will she be able to accept comfort from him when he finally returns from his trip to the underground?
Meanwhile, Errol thought he had it all figured out, but the Anaak Elite darkening his doorstep was a move he couldn't have predicted.
It's all just getting started as things get moving!

Three new portions of the book were added to the story. Day one has come to a close as Errol discovers his son is missing and Arik uncovers a disturbing fact about Eve that may change his view of her forever. As a new day dawns and Part 2 of the book opens, Kyle realizes the mystery that is Chase is only deepening. It is then that he makes a decision to call on the Elders for help.

It may be that he's about to take things too far...

I have debated the idea of re-writing and re-publishing Silent Mysteries for several years. At 610 pages long, it is cost-prohibitive for a lot of fans to purchase. Now, I'm determined to do something to change that.
I'm taking a look at Silent Mysteries with fresh eyes to edit it down and divide it into two smaller novels. My publication company charges significantly less to print books under 300 pages, so this seems like a wise move.
Believe me, this is awesome news for visitors of the website. The whole novel will be posted in its entirety as I work on it, free for everyone to read. The entire novel! Not just the first 150 pages...
If you never had a chance to read the whole book, you're in for a treat. Check back each week for new updates. If you follow me on Facebook, you'll hear about new sections being added right in your newsfeed.
Happy reading!
